Is it really free?
Yes. All available Meeting Recorder.app features are currently free. There is no paid plan or trial period, and no credit card is required.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to record and save files to your computer. Sign in to get meeting transcripts and connect Google Drive.
What can I record?
Record your full screen, an app window, a Chrome tab or audio only. Add your camera, microphone and tab or system audio where Chrome supports it for your selected source.
How do I get a meeting transcript?
After you stop recording, signed-in users can have their recording uploaded to the server for transcription. Wait for the upload to finish; the status and completed transcript appear on the save page. Transcription is processed on the server.
Where are my recordings stored?
Save the complete recording to your computer as MP4 or WebM. Google Drive is an optional connection. Recordings are uploaded to the server for transcription. If saving fails, your recording remains available to retry.
Is there a watermark or recording time limit?
There is no watermark or fixed recording time limit. Recording duration depends on available storage and device resources. If resources run low, the extension attempts a controlled stop so you can save the available recording.
Will a bot join my call?
No. The extension records your selected screen and audio through Chrome without adding a participant to the call. Let participants know you are recording and get any required consent.
Can I record my screen, camera and audio together?
Yes. Add a camera overlay and control your microphone and shared audio separately. Pause, resume, adjust audio and stop to save the complete recording.
